Kia ora koutou Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,

As we finish our first week of school, our staff and I would like to thank all our students, parents, caregivers and whanau for your outstanding start to our school year. Our new normal does have its challenges, but we have felt the full cooperation and support from everyone. Thank you so much.

We are currently consulting our students, parents, caregivers and whanau on their ideas, views and perspectives about our school. This will assist us in developing our 2022 Strategic Plan. Students will be asked to complete a survey in their Whanau classes at the start of next week, and I will send parents the link to their survey this Monday. We would really appreciate as many parents as possible participating in this consultation. We value your thoughts and experiences for growing AJHS.

In line with our health and safety processes, where possible we would like our students to arrive at school from approximately 8am. From this time, most staff are onsite and ready to receive students at school. We know that sometimes there are circumstances where parents have to drop their child/children off at school early, but we need to emphasise that this is a responsibility of the parent and not our school. Thank you for your cooperation.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone, and we look forward to seeing your child next week as we continue to enjoy being back into school life, engaging with learning in such positive ways.

Ngā mihi,

Cushla Shepherd, Principal, Albany Junior High School

Wharenui Sponsorship & Koha

We are seeking corporate sponsorship and financial support from those that are able, to realise this vision.

Due to the covid Red setting restrictions we are unable to hold our class photos this term. We will be scheduling these for later in the year. We have been able to take photos of new students for our management systems. All students will receive their ID card shortly, and existing students will have last year’s photo on their new 2022 ID card.

The AJHS Arts Faculty highly encourages students to try something new and stretch their creative wings in the fields of Visual Art and Music by entering the Shakespeare Globe Centre NZ/Adam Foundation’s 2022 competitions.
