Kia ora koutou Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,
As we finish our first week of school, our staff and I would like to thank all our students, parents, caregivers and whanau for your outstanding start to our school year. Our new normal does have its challenges, but we have felt the full cooperation and support from everyone. Thank you so much.
We are currently consulting our students, parents, caregivers and whanau on their ideas, views and perspectives about our school. This will assist us in developing our 2022 Strategic Plan. Students will be asked to complete a survey in their Whanau classes at the start of next week, and I will send parents the link to their survey this Monday. We would really appreciate as many parents as possible participating in this consultation. We value your thoughts and experiences for growing AJHS.
In line with our health and safety processes, where possible we would like our students to arrive at school from approximately 8am. From this time, most staff are onsite and ready to receive students at school. We know that sometimes there are circumstances where parents have to drop their child/children off at school early, but we need to emphasise that this is a responsibility of the parent and not our school. Thank you for your cooperation.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone, and we look forward to seeing your child next week as we continue to enjoy being back into school life, engaging with learning in such positive ways.
Ngā mihi,
Cushla Shepherd, Principal, Albany Junior High School
