Albany Junior High School provides a rich and stimulating Physical Education and Health programme. We regularly communicate with our students and wider community to design a programme specifically with the needs of our learners in mind. In doing so, we utilise the superb facilities within the school as well as taking regular trips into the community, to take advantage of the nearby Millennium Institute of Sport and Health, various Leisure Centres, clubs and local beaches.

Our list of school resources includes a full size Gymnasium, a full range of fitness equipment including spin bikes, rowing machines, cross trainers and treadmills, a multipurpose Astroturf turf, six tennis courts as well as sand based, all weather playing fields. Features and highlights of the Year 7 to 10 programme include topics such as: swimming, gymnastics, cross country, tennis, badminton, Aussie rules football, surf survival, athletics, invasion games, ‘create a game’, dance, street hockey, International Games, volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, along with a host of other team sports. Year 9 and 10 students have the chance to take part in options such as Outdoor Education, Sports Science and the invitation only Sports Academy.
