Kia ora koutou parents and caregivers,
With the unusual end to our school year, we are thankful for you, our school community. Through a long enduring lockdown where teaching and learning were based from home with parents, families, and teachers supporting school life, we have learnt so much about what matters.
Yesterday we revelled in celebrating our Year 10 students with an afternoon picnic. We were able to reflect, interact and acknowledge their time with us and their next steps. As a Junior High School, our focus is to support, develop and nurture our emerging adolescents through their formative years of growth into a teenager. It is a privilege to be a part of our students’ experience here, where we provide such rich opportunities. We wish all our Year 10 students leaving AJHS all our very best.
Congratulations to all students who received recognition of their contribution and performance to AJHS sport this year. I was so proud to see all our nominated students feature in our daily awards on our AJHS Sport Facebook page this week.
To help your planning for the 2022 school year, please acquaint yourself with the 2022 School Start Table.
We look forward to completing our school year next week, which concludes on Wednesday 15 December. Please let me know if you have any questions, and take care everyone. Enjoy your weekend.
Ngā mihi,
Cushla Shepherd, Principal, Albany Junior High School
