Hockey

Hockey is offered to both boys and girls in year 7 to 10. All levels of players are encouraged to play, from beginners through to experienced players. We do try to accommodate all students that register for hockey but that is always dependent on the player numbers.

We enter our teams in the Harbour Hockey competitions which are played in term 2 and 3. Trials and trainings for the teams will start in term 1.

COLLEGE (Year 9 and 10 Boys and Girls)

Year 9 and 10 teams play in the Harbour Hockey Secondary Schools Competition during term 2 and 3.

College boys games are played on a Wednesday and College girls play on a Thursday. Games are played anywhere between 4pm and 8pm.

Most games are played at Harbour Hockey, 159 Bush Road, Albany or Kristin School, Rangitoto College or Westlake Girls High School. Game times and venues will be detailed on the draw each week.

INTERMEDIATE (Year 7 and 8 Boys and Girls)

We are still waiting on confimation of playing formatt, dates and time etc for Intermediate Hockey. We will get all the relevant information to those who fill out the expression of intrest form as soon as possible.

Training:

Players selected for teams are expected to attend all trainings. Teams will train at least once a week, normally before or after school on the school turf.

Details of training times will be confirmed once teams are selected and coaches confirmed.

Uniform:

College Teams (Year 9 and 10)

Boys are provided with an AJHS hockey shirt and are required to wear their own AJHS PE shorts and the AJHS maroon sports socks.

Girls are provided with an AJHS hockey dress and must also wear the AJHS maroon sports socks.

The AJHS hockey shirts and dresses are to be returned at the conclusion of the season.

AJHS maroon sports socks are available for purchase from the AJHS uniform shop for $20.00

Sports shoes, Shin pads, Mouthguard and Hockey Stick are required and are the responsibility of each individual player.

Intermediate Teams (Year 7 and 8)

Girls and Boys are provided with an AJHS hockey shirt for the season. They are required to wear their own AJHS PE shorts and AJHS maroon sports socks for all games.

AJHS hockey shirts are to be returned at the conclusion of the season.

AJHS maroon sports socks are available for purchase from the AJHS Uniform shop for $20.00.

NORTH HARBOUR HOCKEY COVID VACCINATION POLICY:
Covid Vaccine Certificates/Covid Passes are required for the NHHA to operate fully and effectively. 
Anyone who is eligible to be vaccinated who is unable or unwilling to provide their Vaccine Pass will be declined entry to the NHC.
You may be requested to provide proof of age for you or a child in your care, if they are thought to be over 12-years of age.

The NHHA remains a Vaccine Required Site at all levels of the CPF – Green, Amber, or Red. All persons entering the NHC must provide proof of vaccination status at all levels of the CPF. A valid Vaccine Pass must be scanned at a designated entry point to the NHC, currently via the northern gate entrance A, accessed from the northern carpark.

Individuals aged 12-years and 3-months and over are required to have their Vaccine Pass scanned including:

Staff, Players, Coaches, Administrators, Volunteers, Schools & their students, Board Members, Divisional Committee Members, Visitors, Contractors (plumbers, service agents), Groundsman and Anyone else entering the site.
